A little more about me:
I am a published writer and have 6 years of experience teaching writing to high school students. I have a B.A. in Creative Writing from Oberlin College and a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from San Jose State University.
My experience as a librarian gives me a strong background in research and organization–-skills that are fundamental to any student. I work with students one-on-one to develop a concrete plan for organizing homework and establishing study skills, including instruction on how to easily implement and incorporate proven methods to create new habits. Each program is tailored to the needs, goals and individual requirements of the student.
I understand that study skills need to be taught….most students don’t have them innately. I have documented experience with dramatic improvements, in both a student’s grades and self-confidence, when personalized study skills are incorporated into an education program. These skills provide a strong foundation and are valuable assets in any work environments.
