New “Ask Katie” Advice Column for The Fix

I am super excited (and a little terrified) to announce that The Fix is launching an advice column and they’ve asked yours truly to dole out the advice. While I am terrible at so many, many things—the one thing I have managed to do for the last 8+ years is not pick up a drink. So that’s what I’ll be yapping about. Hope you enjoy the first installment and please show the column some sharing/liking love so I don’t get laughed off the internet (or at least stall the inevitability of my being laughed off the internet…)

Ask Katie: My New Girlfriend Doesn’t Get Why I “Can’t Just Have One”

oh, also! Make sure to read this part: *I am not an expert or a mental health or medical professional; I’m a sober person offering my experiences and advice about sobriety. Every other Tuesday I will one recovery-related question posed by Fix readers, based on my experience. Send your general advice questions to me at with the subject “Ask Katie.”

By submitting a question to this website, you grant The Fix permission to publish it on its site. All questions will remain anonymous. Due to the large number of questions received, The Fix cannot guarantee a response. But they do check back frequently!
