10 Ways to Stay Sober When Everything’s Falling Apart

for The Fix

My 2016 had a rocky start. It was all relatively manageable stuff—tremors, instead of earthquakes—but for a recovering alcoholic, the smallest of shakes can sometimes feel off the Richter scale. I came down with a nasty, two-week flu, which left me feeling behind on work. That led to me feeling grumpy and stressed about my financial situation, which led me to being grumpy with my family and friends, and soon, I was looking at everything with anxious and hopeless eyes.

Fortunately, this isn’t uncharted territory for me and I have some tools to help pull me out of a downward spiral (continued).

Great post Katie and you even gave me a chuckle… Those of us who are old enough remember global cooling, that the same things that “caused” global cooling cause global warming and that, oddly, the prescription to fix it is absolutely the same, government control of everything, know that the planet being a few degrees warmer that the little ice age (the time records started) is a good thing. We also pay attention to the science enough to know that most scientists agree that global warming hype predicting cataclysm is vastly exaggerated.

In other words, the temperature getting warmer (though not over the last 18 years or so, no word on why the climate models can’t explain this) is a good thing. The planet thrives in warm years, and science clearly shows that the planet is greener for it. Don’t take my word for it, look it up. 😉
